Chesapeake Caregivers is a family-owned home care agency serving Maryland's Eastern Shore and Northern Virginia. This policy explains what happens to the personal information you share with us through this website. If you contact us by phone or in person instead, the same principles apply. We only collect what we need to help you, and we do not sell it.

When you fill in our contact form. Your name, email address, phone number, who you are seeking care for, and whatever you choose to tell us about your situation. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing. You do not need to give us detailed medical information to start a conversation.

When you use the chat assistant. The messages you type, and any contact details you provide so that we can follow up.

When you book a consultation. Scheduling is handled through Calendly, which collects the details needed to book the appointment.

Automatically, as you browse. Standard technical information such as pages visited, approximate region, device and browser type, and referring site. We use this to understand which pages are useful, not to identify you personally.

• To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
• To provide and coordinate care services if you become a client.
• To keep records required to run a licensed care business.
• To improve this website and understand which information families find helpful.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

We use a small number of service providers to operate this site. They only receive what they need to perform their function, and they are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes:

• Vercel: hosts this website and provides privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic analytics (Vercel Analytics).
• Google Analytics: measures website traffic and how visitors use the site. Google sets cookies to do this.
• Resend: delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
• Anthropic: powers the chat assistant. Messages you send in chat are processed to generate a reply.
• Calendly: handles consultation scheduling.
• Aaniie (formerly SmartCare): our care management system, where client and caregiver records are kept.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

We use two analytics tools: Vercel Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies, and Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how visitors use the site. Calendly and the chat assistant may also set cookies needed for those features to work. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though scheduling and chat may not.

Enquiries that do not become engagements are kept only as long as needed to follow up. If you become a client, records are retained for the period required by applicable healthcare, employment, and tax rules. You can ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.

Depending on where you live, including under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, you may have the right to ask us to:

• Confirm what personal information we hold about you.
• Provide a copy of it.
• Correct information that is wrong.
• Delete information we are not legally required to keep.
• Stop contacting you.

This website is intended for adults arranging care. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to enquiries and client records is limited to people who need it. No website can promise perfect security, so please avoid sending sensitive medical details, Social Security numbers, or financial information through the contact form or chat. If we need that information, we will collect it through a secure channel.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date above.
